Today iam going to describe a trick that converts any folder into drive without using any software. This trick very useful when ever you want to access the folder in drive so many times. Steps to convert a folder into drive in windows
1. MS- DOS command "SUBST" converts any folder into drive . The syntax of "SUBST" as follows
syntax SUBST drive x: drive y:\path
2. Here drive x: specifies a drive where you want to put the folder contents and drive y:\path specifies the path of the folder that you want to convert into drive..
3. For example if you have software folder in hard disk F and you want to convert into drive. First of all findout the path of the folder, Here F:\Software....
4.Now open command prompt and type the following command
Syntax : subst L: F:/Software
5. Here L: indicates new drive letter, You can use any letter for creating a new drive...
6. If you want to remove the newly created virtual drive, then type the following command in the command prompt..
Syntax: subst L: /D
