What is use of BIOS?
BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System. When ever you power on the system BIOS software runs first and its function is to test and initialize the hardware components such as Hard disks, Ports, CD/DVD drives, CPU etc and then loads the Operating System from the memory device.Whenever you power on the computer/system then the processor needs to execute its first instruction, The BIOS provides the instructions to microprocessor to perform operations..
Basically we can set the passwords to your system in 2 ways....
1. Setting up windows password.
2. Setting up BIOS Password.

If you setup the password to BIOS, It will adds extra protection to your system. When ever you power on the system or laptop, you need to enter the password to load the operating system.
How to setup password to BIOS in your system?
1. Restart or power on your system and press F2 key immediately after restarting or power on.
2. Now select Security Tab and select "Set User Password" or "Set Supervisor Password". The main difference between two is, Set User Password allows you to control the system at start up and set supervisor password allows you to control the setup utility.
3. Set the passwords to both fields by pressing Enter key from keyboard and type the password . In order to save the password press F10 Key from the Keyboard.
4. From now whenever you power on the system it will asks the password to load the system.
